Ripon High School CTE Center Moves Closer to Completion

Construction of the new Career Technical Education (CTE) Center at Ripon High School continues to make significant progress as the project moves closer to completion.

Andy Strickland, Director of Facilities & Operations for Ripon Unified School District, provided an update on the project during a recent school board meeting, noting that construction remains on track as crews work toward final completion.

The new two-story facility is being constructed by C.T. Brayton & Sons and will serve as a dedicated hub for career-focused education and workforce development programs.

Expanding Career Pathway Opportunities

Once complete, the CTE Center will support a variety of educational pathways designed to help students develop real-world skills and prepare for future careers.

Programs planned for the facility include:

• Agricultural Science
• Agricultural Business
• Diesel Mechanics
• Software & Systems Technology
• Patient Care and Healthcare Pathways

The new building will provide modern learning environments specifically designed to support hands-on instruction and career readiness.

Improving Campus Accessibility

In addition to the building itself, construction crews recently completed a major concrete pour connecting the new facility to existing campus buildings.

According to Strickland, the new walkway system has been designed to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility requirements, improving campus connectivity and ensuring safe, accessible routes for students, staff, and visitors.

Looking Ahead

Construction on the Ripon High School Career Technical Education Center began in November 2022 and continues to progress toward completion.

District officials anticipate the facility will be ready for occupancy in time for the start of the 2024–2025 school year, providing students with new opportunities to explore career pathways, gain practical experience, and prepare for future success.
