Measure A Bond Projects Transforming East Union and Manteca High Schools
The Manteca Unified School District’s Measure A Bond Program continues to deliver significant improvements across schools throughout the district, with multiple projects currently completed, under construction, or advancing through planning and approval phases.
Approved by voters in November 2020, the $260 million Measure A bond was established to modernize existing school facilities, improve educational environments, and address long-term infrastructure needs across Manteca Unified schools.
To date, one of the initial eight projects has been completed, three are actively under construction, two are undergoing state review, and two remain in conceptual planning.
Major Improvements at East Union High School
One of the most visible Measure A projects is taking shape at East Union High School, where construction crews have completed the structural steel framework for a new two-story classroom building.
The facility will include:
- 30 new classrooms
- A modern media center
- Updated educational spaces designed to support future student growth
The project represents a significant investment in the 58-year-old campus and will provide expanded learning opportunities for current and future students.
Progress Continues at Manteca High School
At Manteca High School, construction is also advancing on a new two-story classroom building located along North Union Road.
According to Manteca Unified Director of Facilities and Maintenance Aaron Bowers, crews continue installing light-gauge steel framing as the structure takes shape.
Additional campus improvements include:
- Reconstruction of the north parking lot
- New student drop-off areas
- Improved parking facilities
- Construction of a new auxiliary gymnasium
- Development of a dedicated weight room facility
The auxiliary gym’s concrete masonry block walls have been completed, and the steel roof structure has already been installed. Framing work on the new weight room is also underway.
Investing in the Future of Manteca Unified
These projects represent just a portion of the broader Measure A Bond Program, which continues to improve educational facilities throughout the Manteca Unified School District.
As construction progresses, students, educators, and community members can expect modernized learning environments designed to support academic success for decades to come.
