Ceres Alternative Education Programs Getting New Home on Mitchell Road


CERES — A new Stanislaus County Office of Education school for struggling students is going up on Mitchell Road, designed to replace an older site on Memorial Drive.

“Right now, we’re in portables and an old doctor’s office,” said Ceres Community School Principal Telka Walser. The as-yet-unnamed site, weather permitting, will open in January 2015, she said.

High-schoolers attending the community school and Stanislaus Arts Academy, along with junior high students at the boot-camp-style Technical Character Academy, will move to the new site initially, said Scott Kuykendall, director of the SCOE Educational Options Division.

School Improvement Project Begins


ESCALON – A multi-faceted, multi-million dollar renovation and upgrade for the Escalon Unified School District is under way.

Escalon High School is the first school site to be getting work done, currently in the demolition phase, said Escalon Unified School District Superintendent Ron Costa.

Patterson Special Education


Patterson Special Education was constructed as a Lease-Leaseback Project. Two separate major wings were built, connected by an enclosed corridor, resulting in 26,000 square feet of wood framed construction. Building use includes administration, kitchen, multi-purpose, and classroom spaces. The exterior included an all-weather track, site paving, landscaping, irrigation, and a prefabricated shade structure.

Scholle Packaging


Scholle Packaging in Merced required new production areas built within and adjacent to their existing warehouse to streamline their packaging process. The project included the remodel of Warehouse 3, including new production areas, new utilities and infrastructure improvements, site and civil work, and general commercial demolition and reconstruction. Approximately 46,000 square feet of Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) was added to the production space.

Stanislaus County Special Olympics


MODESTO – This past weekend was the 39th Annual Stanislaus County Special Olympics in Modesto. C.T. Brayton & Sons, Inc. sponsored the tie dye t-shirts showcasing the Superman logo. School Bells Ring – Classes Back in Session


ESCALON – Temperatures that topped 100 degrees on Monday probably had students wishing they were taking a dip in the pool instead of plunging into a new school year, but classes resumed as scheduled for the Escalon Unified School District on Aug. 19.

District Superintendent Ron Costa said reports from the various campuses on opening day indicated “smooth sailing” in most regards, with few hitches in getting students in to class and ready to learn.

MUSD Regional Environmental Study Center


C.T. Brayton & Sons, Inc. was responsible for the site work and site utilities to the MUSD Regional Environmental Study Center. Work included concrete saw cutting and demo, construction recessed building pad for portable, grading and AC pave patchwork, site concrete, underground storm drain, sewer and water, electrical, and irrigation/landscaping.
