East Union High Welcomes One of Its Largest Freshman Classes

East Union High School welcomed 437 incoming freshmen for orientation ahead of the new school year, giving students their first opportunity to explore a campus transformed through Manteca Unified School District’s modernization efforts.

As one of the largest freshman classes in recent years, the Class of 2029 was introduced to new learning spaces, campus traditions, and student leaders who will help guide them through their high school experience.

A Strong Start

The annual freshman orientation was led by East Union’s Link Crew, a peer mentoring program that pairs incoming students with upperclassmen who provide support throughout the school year.

After participating in team-building activities and meeting their Link Leaders, students toured the newly renovated campus, experiencing firsthand the modern facilities that will shape their high school journey.

A Modern Learning Environment

C.T. Brayton & Sons proudly partnered with Manteca Unified School District to construct key elements of the campus modernization, including the new two-story classroom building featuring:

• 31 modern classrooms
• A new media center
• Flexible student collaboration spaces

The modernization also introduced a new small gymnasium, expanded weight room, and indoor physical education facilities that support wrestling, aerobics, and other student programs.

Principal Eric Simoni noted that the new classroom building will serve the entire campus community, creating spaces where students and staff can learn, collaborate, and grow together.
